Video game company Ubisoft confirmed a security breach that resulted in unauthorized access to ‘Just Dance’ user data.

Ubisoft discloses a data breach that resulted in unauthorized access to ‘Just Dance’ user data. The security breach was caused by a misconfiguration, the good news is that the problem has been quickly solved.

According to the gaming firm, compromised data only included ‘technical identifiers.’

“We recently identified an intrusion into Ubisoft’s IT infrastructure targeting Just Dance. This incident was the result of a misconfiguration, that once identified, was quickly fixed, but made it possible for unauthorized individuals to access and possibly copy some personal player data.” reads the data breach notice published by the company.

“The data in question was limited to ‘technical identifiers’ which include GamerTags, profile IDs, and Device IDs as well as Just Dance videos that were recorded and uploaded to be shared publicly with the in-game community and/or on your social media profiles. Our investigation has not shown that any Ubisoft account information has been compromised as a result of this incident.”

According to the company, the investigation has not revealed that any Ubisoft account information has been compromised as a result of the incident.

The company is going to notify via email the impacted players, it also announced to have taken all the proactive measures necessary to secure its infrastructure from future incidents.
